Mr. Joseph Martorano, band/orchestra director, joined the IHA faculty in September 2017. He has a long history with IHA, beginning with his daughter Colleen, Class of 2009. Additionally, he has been a member of the orchestra for the IHA musicals for many years.

Mr. Martorano is also the band director at St. Joseph’s Regional High School. He joined the Blue Eagles after a 30-year teaching career, including band director of Brooklyn Technical High School and band director in the North Rockland Central School District. He holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from Brooklyn College and a master’s degree in instrumental music.

Mr. Martorano said he is thrilled to be a part of the IHA community. “I am honored to work with the girls of IHA,” he said, “and look forward to sharing my experience and love of music with them.”
